Richard was a co-founder of CAPDM and is now Technical Director. He graduated from Sussex University in 1988 with a BA in Computing and Artificial Intelligence. After initially working for British Telecom on a large distributed network management system, he joined the Artificial Intelligence Applications Institute at the University of Edinburgh in late 1989.
He joined Heriot-Watt University's Institute for Computer Based Learning in 1992 to work on the Intensely Supportive Learning Environment - building an object oriented database with a powerful search tool capability.
He has a wide range of expertise in database design and development, World Wide Web-based technologies, computer networking, UNIX and personal computer application development. His recent work has included giving specialist courses in Java development, building customised Internet servers and script programming.
