Duncan was a co-founder of CAPDM and is Director of Operations. He graduated with honours from Edinburgh University in 1994 with a degree in theoretical Computer Science and found his niche in publishing systems development.
Having worked for a traditional typesetter, Duncan saw the opportunity to introduce the quality associated with high-end print publishing into the web revolution of the mid-nineties, and co-founded CAPDM Ltd in 1996 to achieve this goal. His subsequent work with the Edinburgh Business School gained him further experience in the production of learning-oriented textbooks for print and electronic delivery.
Duncan manages the production service arm of CAPDM, and remains the system architect for the SGML/XML software at the heart of these services. His current technical interests include the streaming processing model for XML and electronically-assisted copyright usage tracking.
